PeaZip is an open source file and archive manager. It’s freeware and free of charge for any use.

PeaZip can extract most of archive formats both from Windows and Unix worlds, ranging from mainstream 7Z, RAR, TAR and ZIP to experimental ones like PAQ/LPAQ family, currently the most powerful compressor available.

For archive creation, PeaZip suppors a wide range of compression and encryption standard, from fastes to most powerful ones, and allows to export job definition as scripts to bridge the gap between GUI and console applications, and let the user pick the best of the two worlds.

Playback is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to share media on your Mac with any Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or other UPnP compatible device.

Playback integrates with major media applications such as iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture, Adobe Lightroom, Photobooth, EyeTV, and more, meaning all you have to do is select what you want to share. Playback also allows you to control the amount of data being transferred to your devices via a handy bandwidth throttle that ensures you can surf and transfer data at the same time comfortably.

Playback also prides itself on being particularly fast due to the nginx server. Nginx delivers high performance transfer rates, stability and simple configuration which is why its favored by sites such as WordPress, Hulu and SourceForge. Finally, another bonus is that Playback supports HD MKV files so no transcoding is required. However, some Matroska formats are not supported meaning that you have to sit through painfully long transcoding processes before playing certain media.

Overall, Playback is an excellent streaming app for Macs to PS3s and Xbox 360s. Combined with an application such as XBMC, it offers a superb home entertainment setup system.
