Bila anda bertanya-tanya, kapan sebenarnya manusia mempunyai konsep pemikiran tentang virus, jawabannya adalah tahun 1949 dimana John von Neuman pionir komputer sudah memperkirakan adanya program yang dapat mereplikasi dirinya sendiri. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh tiga programmer dari AT&T Bell Laboratories yang menyaksikan program yang mereka ciptakan bertarung memperebutkan kontrol atas satu komputer dalam eksperimen yang dinamakan “Core Wars”.
Fakta yang cukup mengejutkan adalah virus pertama yang secara resmi diakui (C) Brain bukan berasal dari Amerika atau Eropa yang dapat dikatakan merupakan negara penemu komputer, tetapi berasal dari Pakistan. Pada tahun 1986, dua bersaudara Basit dan Amjad, pemilik toko komputer di Lahore, Pakistan yang pertama kali memasukkan program kecil ke dalam boot sektor pada disket 360 KB dan program tersebut akan dijalankan setiap kali komputer distart dengan disket yang terinfeksi (pada saat itu hampir semua komputer di start menggunakan disket karena harddisk masih sangat mahal dan belum umum digunakan pada komputer) dan program yang dimasukkan ke boot sektor ini menetap dimemori komputer untuk mengkopikan dirinya (pada saat itu istilah infeksi masih belum populer) ke disket lain yang dimasukkan ke drive A ataupun drive B. Setahun setelahnya, University of Delaware menyadari bahwa mereka telah terinfeksi virus tersebut karena adanya label “(c) Brain” pada disket-disket yang mereka gunakan.
Sementara itu ditahun 1986 juga, seorang programmer Ralf Burger menyadari bahwa file dapat diprogram untuk melakukan kegiatan kopi secara otomatis dengan memasukkan dirinya kedalam file lain. Ia menulis contoh program yang dinamakan VIRDEM yang dapat menginfeksi file .COM.
Jangan lupakan pula Fred Cohen dari University of Southern California yang melakukan disertasi Doktoral pertama dengan topik virus komputer. Ia juga menemukan kenyataan (yang sampai saat ini sering sekali mengejutkan pembuat virus) bahwa sekali anda menciptakan suatu virus yang bagus, dampak yang diakibatkan oleh virus dan penyebarannya ini akan sangat luar biasa dan diluar perkiraan anda.
Sementara itu, di Tel Aviv, programmer lain melakukan eksperimen, ia menciptakan virus pertama dengan nama Suriv-1 (pembacaan terbalik dari virus, cara penamaan yang sama digunakan oleh Nimda) dan dapat menginfeksi semua file .COM, setelah itu Suriv-2 yang dapat menginfeksi .EXE ditemukan dan merupakan virus pertama di dunia yang dapat menginfeksi file .EXE. AVG adalah salah satu program antivirus yang banyak disukai karena fitur-fiturnya yang cukup canggih. Memang program ini banyak memakan ruang memori, tetapi di samping itu AVG cukup tangguh dalam menghadapi virus-virus yang saat ini semakin merajalela saja. AVG mempunyai dua versi yaitu AVG versi berbayar dan AVG versi gratis (AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition). Disini kita akan diberikan panduan install software AVG tersebut
AVG menjadi urutan kedua untuk software yang paling banyak di download 2013. Ya software anti virus ini juga tidak kalah dengan Avast, yang menempati urutan pertama untuk software anti virus yang paling banyak dicari dan di download pada tahun 2013. Di AVG dalam menscan virus kita mendepatkan kecepatan yang cepat.
Fitur AVG Free Anti Virus: anti virus, link scanner, perlindungan email, dan anti rootkit. System Requirments AVG Free Anti Virus : Intel Pentium 1.8 GHz processor or faster, 550 MB free hard drive space (for installation), 512 MB RAM.
Berbeda dengan anti virus lainya yang kebanyakan dalam scan yang memerlukan waktu lama, AVG juga dianjurkan untuk anda yang sering surfing di internet. AVG juga memberikan perlindungan kompter yang bagus, tapi di anti virus AVG edisi yang free anti virus memiliki satu kelemahan yaitu hanya bisa meng-karantina virus yang terdeksi, tidak seperti antivirus yang lain yang biasa kita jumpai dapat menghapus virus saat pendektesian. Cara Instal AVG 2012 hampir sama dengan AVG 2011, yaitu sebagai berikut :
- Buka file master-nya, jika belum punya silahkan download di sini.
- Setelah file master didownload, ekstrak file instalasi tersebut dengan cara klik dua kali atau klik kanan lalu pilih Open.
- Tunggu sampai proses ekstrak selesai
- Pilih bahasa Indonesia jika menginginkannya, dalam totorial ini, saya pilih bahasa Indonesia. Setelah memilih bahasa kemudian klik Setuju.
- Pilih Instalasi Cepat, jika ingin mengubah konfigurasi sistem pilih Instalasi Khusus (bagi yang berpengalaman). Kemudian klik Berikutnya.
- Hilangkan tanda centang yang pertama. Lalu klik Berikutnya, proses instalasi dimulai.
- Setelah proses selesai restart komputer Anda. Setelah direstart Anda akan melihat di dekstop terdapat icon AVG 2012, klik dua kali icon tersebut. Maka muncul jendela utama AVG.
Saat pertama kali di install AVG belum diupdate, jika komputer Anda terkoneksi ke Internet Anda dapat meng-update-nya secara langsung dengan cara pilih dan klik Perbarui sekarang di daftar menu sebelah kiri bawah. Atau jika komputer Anda tidak terkoneksi ke Internet Anda dapat meng-udate-nya juga secara offline.
